We're proud to announce that Tusker Construction Group has won Industrial Engineering – Construction Projects at the Irish Steel Awards 2026, for our Lakeland Dairies Milk Intake Extension.

Recognising a Project Delivered in a Live Environment

The Lakeland Dairies Milk Intake Extension in Bailieborough, Co. Cavan was a complex, steel-led project delivered inside a fully operational dairy facility. Our team designed, fabricated, and installed the structural and process-support steelwork, including the intake canopy extension, silo support infrastructure, and pipe bridge, while milk intake continued uninterrupted.

A phased delivery approach, offsite fabrication, and daily coordination with Lakeland Dairies' operations team and tanker drivers kept the build on track. Because fabrication, crane hire, haulage, and construction were all delivered in-house, we kept full control of the programme from the fabrication yard to final installation. The project was completed on time, within budget, and with zero health and safety incidents.

A Team Win at Irish Steel Awards 2026

This award belongs to the people who made the project happen: our steelworks, site, and project teams. Their skill, planning, and commitment delivered the project to a high standard, in a demanding environment, over a winter programme.
